The Canary Islanders Heritage Society of Louisiana's display at the Fiesta.  Hats and purses in foreground are handmade of palmetto fronds.  Those made in the Canary Islands and in St. Bernard used the same pattern.

More displays in the exhibition tent.  The costume with red skirt and vest went under water in the Museum during Katrina but it has been restored.  Below the map of Gran Canaria are shoes and leggins, which are additonal parts of the white shirt and tunic costume presented on opening day.

Palmetto huts constructed for area artisans to display typical handmade crafts

Bay City Area Quilt Guild of Houston, Texas created 21 beautiful quilts brought to the Fiesta by Lisa Fontenot to be awarded by lottery to people in St. Bernard who survived Hurricane Katrina. 

Musical group Ovi-G and the Froggies entertain the crowd at the Fiesta.
