Fuerteventura, the island with the oldest history, has the longest beaches of all the archipelago. Only a narrow channel separates Fuerteventura from the African continent. Its capital city, Puerto Rosario shows the typical architecture of the Canary Islands. The most representative building of this style, anyhow, is to be found 23 kilometers from here, in La Oliva: the Casa de los Coroneles, a manorial house of 18th century.
